Solar powered water feature

I would like to get a solar powered water pump for a feature that will have a ground level sump with a large vase above, (approx 2'9" height). The pump will have to raise the water from the pump to the top of the vase, produce a small bubble and then the water will trickle back down to the sump.
What sort of size solar panel/water pump would this need please?

don't bother.... The solar panels are an eyesore and the fine cable between the panel and the pump seems to fail at the connections... tried two so far neither worked and you have to pay a lot more ffor one with a battery pack so it will run when the sun doesn't shine... and they only work properly in very full sunlight as the panels are usually far toosmall

I agree, if you can't get one that stores a charge then would'nt bother. The one I had was pretty rubbish and noisy and the pressure changed with how bright the sun was. It would probably be just as cheap to get an electric one 'plumbed' in.

I wouldn't either.
Many solar garden products are extremely cheaply Chinese-made, and simply break .. or are not reliable.
I would give one 1 year ... tops.

I got rid of the water feature in my garden..............when I sat outside in the summer it made me want to wee all the time.

Try watergardeningdirect. I bought a very good solar pump which stored the charge. I hid the cable and the panel was surreptitiously placed. The only problem I found was that the pump was uncontrollable so that on a really hot sunny day the jet would be about 3 foot high!
