"Industrial" strength weed killer

I need to clear weeds from waste ground to the rear of my house as they are blocking access to an outbuilding I own. Is there an "industrial" strength weed killer I can use.

If they are normal weeds then Roundup is about as good as it gets, if you are trying to kill off brambles then you may need something different.

There is a chemical comes as white crystals like sugar. You mix with water and spray over what you want to kill. Trouble is its non selective, it kills everything and is active in the soil for a long time. Am trying to remember the name.

Your thinking of Sodium Chlorate, no longer available to the public, only available to licensed users. Also whilst it worked it made the remains highly flammable, I know from experience!!!

may be cheaper to pay someone with a license for the 'good stuff' to do it it one hit! my husband does that work and its pence compared to the brands, and works better!

I used to work for an agricultural and horticultural supplier of chemicals and weedkillers, Roundup was always the weed-killer of the professionals.

I bought some Sodium Chlorate last year of ebay, it came from Turkey.

Here in the U.S., we can buy Ortho Weed and Brush Killer... it'll kill just about anything. However, nothing will grow in the treated section for about a month or so...

All the good ones seem to be banned nowadays. Sodium Chlorate, Paraquat etc. Seems like the Glyphosphates are the way to go. Roundup and its cousins. At least it kills the roots but won't stop emerging seeds.
