How are your runner beans doing this year? Ours are very slow to get going, only half way up the sticks at the moment.

I live in north oxfordshire and my runner beans were a complete disaster tried replanting by they failed as well it is likely to be the cold wet weather we have suffered. here`s to next year
I live in Essex, and ours too are very slow, and just do not look at all healthy - they are growing slowly but are also a bit yellowy. We had a superb crop last year, but do not expect anything like it this year.

We are in Devon and always get a bumper crop, but looks like they will be expensive this year to buy.! Just finishing off last years which I froze down.
Just seen a few yellow leaves appearing on beans......oh well........
Ours are slow too in Leicestershire, they need some sunshine. My Mums have gone really yellow too but she fed them with general plant food (watered in) and the colour has improved in the last couple of days.
My mum's are not even half way up the pole, but she does live quite high up on a hillside, so colder there I think.
All my veg are rubbish this year apart from a couple of cabbages.Nothing has grown and most of it has been eaten by snails despite my battle against them.I have given up!
It is reassuring to find that other gardeners are experiencing a disappointing crop of runner beans. We too had a bumper crop last year but this time the plants are struggling to climb the sticks.
The runners are doing really badly, half have been eaten and the other half are struggling up their canes.

The French beans are looking fab and I think we'll be having some for supper on Saturday :-)
I'm in Herts. Mine look pale and weak and are struggling up the canes, despite good soil and regular feeding. The wind and rain we've had have definitely taken their toll.

Thanks every-one for your comments, we had wondered if we had got a 'duff' packet of seeds. (normally keep our own, but I put a lid on the jar they were in and YES you know what happened, they all went mouldy! Silly me). Lets hope we get a bit of warmth and manage to save them somewhat. Happy gardening all.
