I saved some seed from a chlli i had last year and grew them in pots, but they don't look like last years, so what I need to know is do they usually come like the mother plant? or could it be the weather thats made the difference, last year fruit was red his years are turning purple.

Could you have cross pollinated them somehow?

well the bee's might have as the plants have been in a greenhouse with the door open, (to keep them out of the heavy rain mostly) but I know some things don't come like the mother plant and wondered if chillies were like that, I have never grown any before.
Mine are just like the mother plant. I have some of those little devils about the size of my thumb nail and some jalapeños. They are more or less like the mother plants. Have been replanting the seeds for years now and they are just as cheeky also.

got a plant from a car-boot last year and saved some seed from that, so i have no idea what sort it is,maybe i've found a new variety that will be super-hot, they look whitish at the moment with purple streaks, think i'll let my son try them first as he loves hot chlli and seems to have tin guts, if he chokes and his eyes water i'll let you know.
