I mow mine every 10 days or so, beginning in April and ending in late September, although the actual dates depend on the growing conditions. I cut the grass with a back-roller rotary mower, and I cut it in strips, so I get the striped effect. I cut (say) north-south, then next time I cut east-west. This avoids yellow strips or patches. The grass length is about 1" or maybe 1¼". According to "The Lawn Expert" (Dr. D.G. Hessayon, Expert Books, 2000), a lawn should be cut twice a week in summer, and once a week in spring and autumn. As I am rather long in the tooth, I have settled on cutting the grass every 10 days, and it works quite well, because it saves me some work. I also use Levington's Lawn Feed "Evergreen", which is good stuff.
