Housplant??

I have been given a houseplant and would love to know what it is called(the giver didn't).It has big leaves like a phalenopsis orchid,but is not an orchid.It has a corm and the flower head is cream with a profusion of stamems in the middle and small petals around the edge.
Any ideas please.
