Lavender/Rosemary

I have a Lavender Plant and Rosemary Plantin pots should i put these in the shed over winter? If so when should i do this? If i leave them outside should i do anything to protect them?

They are quite hardy if a reasonable size. Mine stay out but if we get really arctic weather I might protect them.
I just leave mine out - but they are in the ground, you could sink the pots in the ground if the soil's too hard to plant them at the moment. I'd keep them in a sheltered spot if not, and keep them until spring. They might grow too leggy in the shed, they do need the light.
I have cut mine right back - Rosemary in particular went mad this summer - as they are in the ground I shall just leave them - but I am not really a gardener
Neither like a lot of water so put them somewhere where they won't get waterlogged but do need to be kept outside.
