Is it ok to use on a pot containing herbs that will be eaten? tia

I would have thought so, but perhaps you had better check with the garden centre where you got it from, or contact the manufacturer.
According to the RHS you should not use it on edible plants or anything in open soil.
No, definitely not. It says so on the container. Take the herb out of the earth, wash the roots thoroughly, throw away all the earth, sterilise the pot and replant the herb. I hate vine weevils and lily beetles with a passion.
