Are there any strawbs specifically bred for growing in poly-tunnels? At the moment I've got Cambridge favourite, which taste very good, however, the yield under cover isn't as prolific as the ones I grow outdoors.

Most commercial poly-tunnel growers seem to grow Elsanta these days - just had a punnet or two from the Co-op - very nice :)

I'll get some plants in the autumn. Cheers Dave.

Did Boo serve you int Co-Op? :-)
I think she's on day-release (or 'holiday' as she would probably style it) :)
Could it be that being undercover they are not getting as many passing insects to pollinate them. I have Elsanta in the garden and they are prolific I've had about 3.5 kilos so far from 18 plants this year.
our supermarkets appear to be overflowing with strawberries this year!

No probs with flowers & pollination ratty. Loads of fruit but small compared to outdoor grown plants.
