Can anyone give me an idea of cost of erecting a fence. I need 3 panels , one to be cut .3 concrete gravel boards and 4 concrete posts. Old fence to be taken away. I have been quoted 430 pounds. Does this sound right. I have no idea

I would wait, apparently the material costs are at a high following recent storm damage and demand!
Maggie, your doing well on that price.
Depending on sizes, etc:
4 x concrete posts (8') = approx £80.
3 x gravel boards (6' x 12") = approx £40
3 x fence panels (6' x 5') = approx 60
Total material cost = approx £180.
.... a bit extra for concrete, etc .......

.... even though they're taking the old fence down and taking t away, £200+ labour seems a bit excessive to be honest.
What part of the country are you from ??
It sounds a fair price considering they'll have to dig out the existing posts
Using Gizmonster's figures: 2 men for 1 day, £100 each. I don't think that's too bad. Especially including digging out and disposal of old materials.
I suppose it depends on what's there now.
If it's wooden posts, digging them up shouldn't take too long.
If it's concrete posts, then yea it'll be a pain to dig them up. If there are concrete posts already there, are they not in good enough condition to re-use, so they don't need digging up ??
I think that's about reasonable maggie, if they are digging out the old and setting in new concrete posts, putting in gravel boards and the fencing. It cost us about that much. The fencing and boards I chose wasn't the cheapest, I had three fence panels plus gravel boards and concrete posts also two smaller fence panels erected on top of a dividing wall two men to take out the old fence and take it away £400.

I am in Hampshire. The back fence was put up in one long run to all the houses. Either side have had theirs done. They left my fence temporarily secured mine as I have a puppy so there's only two posts to come out.

Oh! Forgot to say, it just one man's wages
I dont know where Gizmonster shops but if I did I wouldn't be shopping there!!

I pay far less than that for those products.

To be honest I think you could get it done cheaper. find a reputable handyman, its the sort of job I would take on and I would charge much less.
I got the prices from a firm that's local to me, that I know is not cheap .... deliberately getting a slightly higher price.
You still haven't said if the posts that need to come out are concrete or wood. Even if they're concrete, I reckon 1 man should do this in a day ... and I stand by my original post of thinking that you could get this done cheaper.
If you're getting a specialist to do this, then that might explain the excessive prices.
As ratter suggests, a good handyman should be able to do just as good a job .... and charge quite a bit less.

Thanks! They are wooden posts. Think I may check out someone else as it seems a bit heavy but I have nothing to compare it with at the moment. Give the weather a chance to dry up
Maggie, offer them £400, if funds allow I would get Concrete posts rather than wood, the trouble with wood you need to keep treating them & that can cost, with concrete once in, job finished, to take the oldout & taken away could cost you £50>>>£60 depending on time, you are talking about £15/P/H.
As suggested, def stay with the concrete posts.
To remove the old fence really shouldn't take too long - digging up 2 wooden posts and removing all the old fence panels and whatever rubble there is.
To be honest, I was thinking around £300 - £350 ish .....
Don't go to a fencing firm .... try and source a good handyman :)
