I planted some chilli seeds in small compost pots and put them in a propagator.
The seeds have germinated but there are also two small growths - they look like translucent umbrellas
Am I right in thinking these are some kind of fungi and will the chilli be ok

Thanks in anticipation

Probably fungus spores that were in your compost - just pick 'em out and discard them.
Almost certainly and feeding on some not fully composted vegetable material in the compost. Probably won't affect a living plant but it might be wise to transfer some of your seedlings to bigger pots earlier than you intended.

Happy Easter
Ric. a friend brought back some mexican chilli seeds fom the US, they are now producing their second leaves, slow growing at present but hopefully will speed up when it warms up a bit. I sowed mine about the first week in march.
The 'umbrella' is the fruiting body, most of the mycelium will be 'unpickoutable'.
