I found a couple of cloves of garlic sprouting in the fridge. Just for fun I planted them and they are doing quite well. Any chance of actually getting any garlic does anyone know or will it just be leaves.

yes you will get garlic. I have around 50 growing in my garden all from garlic bought at the supermarket that started sprouting -you have to separate out the cloves and plant them and for every clove you plant you will get a full head of garlic. They are very hardy as I lost a few last year and they sprouted up ll by themselves in spring. The garlic is lovely fresh or you can gather it in and hand to dry. Also its good preserved in olive oil with a few chopped herbs
You will get garlic bulbs as Retrochic says .. the only issue is that most of the garlic you buy in the supermarket comes form abroad and may be more suited to warmer climates than ours. So it is a good idea to buy a couple of bulbs suited to our climate. That more or less guarantees you success.
One other point is that garlic is best planted in autumn and grown through the winter ... apparently it stores better. But who knows, I have around 30 in the ground planted last October and another 10 planted in March this year. They are very easy to grow in plant pots and like free draining soil.
When you have got the garlic bulbs from the ones you have planted, save a few bulbs to plant again, this way you create your own line of bulbs that are suited to your soil.
Good Luck !
Yes you are very likey to get some garlics, but the trick is knowing when to harvest them. Here's a link that might help.

As an aside, keeping garlic in the fridge isn't the best way of storing it as it is tricked into sprouting. A cool, dark and dry place is best.
