I have been given 5 plugs of these and wonder if they are suitable for patio pots. If so how many for a medium sized patio pot please and any hints on looking after them.

Can you find out the name from the 'giver' of your fuchsias? There are lots of hardy fuchsias and they perform differently. Mine is in the ground and has to be cut back severly each year, but some can be grown in pots. Mine took 2 years to get really established and is a beautiful sight every year, it would be great if it was growing as a hedge but I have it as a 'specimen' plant.
I had one called Winston Churchill and it came back year after year, increasing in size each time. It was beautiful. Some hardy ones do better than others, but I think most would do equally well in pots or in the garden.
