I have half a bag of potting compost in my shed, left over from last year. I just opened it to do a bit of re-potting and it is swarming with hundreds of tiny flies. Would you use it?

yes, tip it out of the bag into buckets or something to get rid of the flies and make it nicer to handle then use it. I probably wouldn’t use it for indoor plants though

Thank you, woofgang, it is now in the wheelbarrow at the bottom of the garden. I'm hoping the cold overnight temp will have killed them off.
