The Parsley Gods..
Have finally looked down on me. After numerous tries to get the seeds to germinate, I've finally succeeded. Propagator and plastic bags over the pots didn't work. In desperation I sowed them in a seed bed and left them to get on with it. I've got about 200 seedlings now:-)

Know what you mean melv .. I put about 100 corriander seeds in a small bed in the greenhouse. We now have rather a lot of it to use up. Had some tonight added to a mango salsa.. truely amazing, it really adds a lot to the taste !
Most people think that parsley is for colour and they dont realise what it should really taste like. As you will soon be aware parsley is really quite strong tasting.
People just dont know what they are missing with the supermarket offering.
That's it you have reminded me .. I have added that to my list of things to do tommorow .. sow parsley seeds !

Parsley is strange. I couldn't grow it for years and now I can! It is deep-rooted, so don't put into small pots. I'm amazed that a plant I have in a large pot has kept going outside for 3 years now ( just cut off the flowers when they try to form). Every year, I sow some coriander seeds around it and they grow, so it's a useful pot. They'll be useful swaps. :)
Nooooo .. don't mention Basil. We did 20 in the poly tunnel. They look perfect and too good to eat and the tomatoes are nowhere near ready yet. That for me is one of the landmarks of the growing year .. tomato soup with basil !
Basil was already on my re-sow list for tommorow. Hopefully it will be at it's best for the tomato's arrival !

There is plenty time .. get more seeds and sow a few. Then in a few weeks sew a few more, this will give you a continuous supply. I am no expert on Basil, but it sounds like it may have been over watered..
Crown/root rot – Crown and root rot are associated with soggy soil. The perpetrators are both a fungi and bacteria found in soil that burst into action when the ground is moist. Leaves turn yellow and brown followed by stems and the entire plant discolouring and dying.
