Would anyone know if the batteries in the solar garden lights can be replaced and if they can where would you get the batteries from.

Different makes of light may vary but mine take AA rechargable ones.

it says on some batteries NI-CD AA 600MAH 1.2 v that isnt the same as ordianary batteries is it.?
Yes, it's an ordinary rechargeable battery, and you can get a replacement almost anywhere that sells batteries. But 600mA is rather a small current capacity - get something with a higher rating.
One problem with such lights is that the battery connections become tarnished and make poor contact. It might be worthwhile to clean them thoroughly and see if the batteries themselves are still OK. I have to do this once a year with mine.
we have re-charged ours with a normal household charger and they are alot brighter!!!
