is it normal that my snapdragons are able to survive heavy frost and are still flowering? they are outside in the beds not pots.

Normal ?...Well, I think it's surprising just how hardy these plants actually are, I've seen these plants growing out of old wall and cracks in paving,surviving some pretty harsh weather!
The snapdragon or antirrhinum is an old cottage garden favourite grown since victorian times which was introduced from warmer climes as a garden plant and in gardening terms it's considered as a 'half hardy annual' in our usual climate. They are usually taken out after the growing season, as many varieties are prone to the fungal disease known as rust and this practice would hopefully break the cycle. Good luck and Happy New Year. Thank you for all your information Tbird+.Last summer was the first time i ever had them in the garden,and before i could even plant them out,they were floating around the garden,when the floods happened! These snapdragons are surviving all our climate can throw at them, so i'm becoming quite attached to them lol. A good New Year to you and yours! Ricky

I have been trying to get rid of snapdragons for the last 2 years I have just ripped up loads of the ******* that all sprung up after the last time I pulled them all up... and it's not just the odd one or two - and all ready to flower
