i have one from last year. the leaves are green and supple. Q1 what do i feed it with? Q2 was i right in removing last years growth stem which appears dead? Q3 if all is well when cant i expect some developement?i hope you can help as it was given to my wife as a gift and into my care.

you can buy liquid orchid feed to feed it with. Cutting off the old stem was ok to do. You can sometimes get them to re-flower off the old stem but mostly they die back anyway. A new one will come from the base.

As to when you get development I can not be specific. To trigger it to flower you need to allow it to dry down for a month or two and just keep it alive and then re-wet it and keep it warm and humid.
