Trying to grow peas for the first time this year but they don't seem to want to germinate - any tips?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yes, I'd recommend soaking them overnight or at least for a few hours first, and if possible, sow them in a row of guttering until they germinate, rather than outdoors where mice or slugs usually make a meal of the germinating shoots before they have a change to peep through the soil. Once they've germinated you can slide the peas, complete with compost, into ridges outside to get them off to a good start.
