Probably about 400/500.00 and you have to approach your local district council first. No reputable tree fellers will cut down a tree without notifying the council anyway. They have to make sure that trees do not have a preservation order on them or they get fined heavily.
Actually, it might be a bit cheaper. It depends where the tree is.

Thanks for the answer but had a couple of reputable firms come and give me a quote and got quoted as low as 50!!
Taking on board what you say swiper, Mr ES has just planted a Eucuyppptooes tree last year, I keep telling him it will grow too big, does he listen??? Lots of money then to chop that baby.
mmm, that sounds very low Swiper...( Lottie's sounded an awful lot!!) did that include the taking away?
50.00 is ridiculously cheap. It would cost me 28.00 to dump at Green Waste Tip! I would have thought that 175ish would have been nearer the mark, providing it is reasonably easy access

Sorry, It didn't include the taking away because my mum and dad have a log fire and asked me to keep everything so they can use it. They have a wood chipper and the spread the chipping on the garden and a stilh saw for the logs.
