I have a large fig tree, that has been under my care for about 7 years. I noticed that year after year, the fruits are getting smaller and smaller. The figs used to be the size of a golf ball some a bit larger. Currently the figs are super tiny (pinball machine size ball). They ripen really fast, and don't have a chance to grow. I live in Los Angeles, Ca, and it is quite hot. My gardener prunes the tree, although we don't give it any sort of vitamins. Is there something I can do or buy to have the fruits be larger and not ripen so fast? Thank you!
I live in London and my fig tree is in a very big pot... I have never pruned it..I find it needs a lot of water and any problems I get are usually because I haven't watered it enough..i fertilize it with whatever I am using that year.. and get rid of any small fruit at the end of the summer. (I read somewhere that you should do this)
