Orchids help please.

I have a orchid Cymbidium and have just potted it on after cutting into two plants. The leaves have grown very tall and are bending. what I was wondering is if you can cut the leaves down, say half the height.? My book doenst say anything about it. many thanks

It may be a good idea to give your plants more light for unless you have been chucking nitrogen at them it would suggest the leaves are being drawn through lack of light.Otherwise leave the leaves as they will be replaced in due course by the natural processes of the plants.
