When we lived at our old address we had non-return valves fitted to both outside water taps. At our new address the water taps do not have these non-return valves. Does anyone know if it is a legal requirement to have such valves fitted?
British standard stop taps are designed to let water flow in one direction only.If you have a branch off the main to supply say a garden tap then it is a require ment to fit a NRV on the outlet side of the main stop tap.
Thanks for your answer Malagabob333.
Just to clear matters in my mind, if the outside taps are fitted after the main stop tap, am I right in thinking that a NRV is not required?
