I have two stems of bamboo which I bought already in the vase containing water. I have changed the water a couple of times since then and even though the water level never seems to go down, the bamboo is growing. Could I plant the stems in a pot and would they grow?
Thanks. It will be in a pot. Do you know how often it will need watering? I'm not really that good with plants, but I'm hoping that I can keep this goimg!
what you have is called a lucky bamboo which is not a garden bamboo. It is a type of Dracaena that is not frost hardy. They thrive in very wet conditions hence doing well in a vase of water. If you do plant it in a pot then keep it very wet and keep indoors.
Bamboo is tropical & needs similar caring. A good soak once a month and remove surplus water after 24hrs. Spray stems & florets with water once a week.
