HI, I have my grden all ready prepared to lay turf but because of this and that I've been going to do it for 6 weeks and not got round to it.
Now time is marching on as I have a party for my daughters birthday on July 24th and it needs to be done for then. We are going away for a few days however on Jul 5th.
My question is; am I better laying it now and risk leaving it without water for 3 days while we are away, or lay it when we return and then have people walking on it after only 2 weeks??
Thank you

lay it now.
do it now-might rain when you are away
or give it a good soaking before you go
or get a friend neighbour to spray it for you
Depends where you live . If its in the SE there is so little rain that unless you can get someone to give it a good soaking every day , its best to leave it until you get back.
Elsewhere in the country it's less of a risk but 3 days of no water on a new lawn is always risky.
Do it now and find a way to water it.
2 weeks is no good for turf at this time of year.

mmm, thanks everyone ...think I'd better lay it now and try to find someone to water it when we're away. We're in Yorkshire so rain is always a possibility!
