I agree with nonomaybe raking could make the problem worse and at best it's only a temporary solution. Normally you only get a significant amount of moss if the conditions for it are favourable i.e. damp and shady, or you don't get moss in a lawn that's dry and well drained. So maybe you should be looking a little deeper, perhaps the lawn needs aerating or maybe surrounding trees or bushes are encouraging moss. By all means get rid of with moss killer but you might need to repeat the exercise in the spring and then seek a more radical solution.
