The fitter is being supplied by the Company supplying the goods,No VAT mentioned just the labour quote so I'm assuming he is not VAT registered.
I'd say that was a very fair price Dennis. I can immediately see several things that could "go wrong", of course, these would all be included in a fixed quotation.

Thanks TB I realize there is a lot of work involved, more than I can manage at my age and bad back, just wanted some assurance that I wasn't paying over the odds.Yes the figure is a fixed quote.
Sounds like a bargain to me ... my first thought is it's too cheap..!
Does your builder come highly recommended, and are you sure they have not just given a low quote to get the job, and then half way through ... turn around and ask for more money ?
From our office we arrange about three bathroom conversions to suit the disabled every week, it is our most common job.
Obviously every job is different ... but I cant remember the last time I seen an estimate for under £4000.

We had our bathroom converted into a wet room last year its about the same size as yours, bath out, 3 walls needed retiling, plumbing, various probs along the way, it was £2.200, But he made a perfect job & took all the rubble with him.
