Any advice on what type of a cooker would be sufficient for one person living in an apartment. A large cooker with an oven would not be required, just something to make small meals etc. Hope you can help. thanks.

you can get microwave sized oven with a hob on top which is good for one person. http://www.argos.co.u...COOKERS+WITH+HOBS.htm can get them cheaper then this
Why not buy a Combi-Microwave, see Link

I've survived on a combi oven for the last few years, but as soon as the kitchen is fully finished a nice range cooker is what I have in mind. Hoefully to allow me to indulge in a bit of proper cooking again.

I think you should get whatever takes your fancy. Personal choice thing isn't it ?
Hi O_G......I feel sure a combi microwave is sufficient for one person who doesn't want to do 'proper cooking'. However, for real cooking, a range with a double oven is, IMO, essential....I only wish I could accommodate such an appliance, instead of the single oven which is in my kitchen.

Hope the alterations to your kitchen are soon finished and fully meet your requirements.

Ron.
I have a cooker but only use that when the family are here. I bought the table model large halogen and you can do anything in it .I would not be without it.Does not dry up food like the conventional oven and you can do a whole dinner in it .

Many thanks for your suggestions, most helpful,
And when you've decided on your oven why not get a small slow cooker as well? then you'll be set for everything a single person needs.
Except toasties ;-)
