Cleaning Grease Off Carpet

While decorating I took the door handles from the interior doors and some dust fell on to the carpet. It is what is left of the grease when the door handles were last greased. Does anyone have any ideas how to remove the marks from the carpet? I'd be most grteful

Have you tried the old fashioned way?
Clean WHITE blotting paper and a warm iron. Good luck in finding the blotting paper, but it works better than brown paper on a cream carpet.
