Pillow Size

Are British pillows getting smaller? I think so, I bought some new ones from Lidle and found that my pillow cases are to short for them by about 5-6 inches, so I went to the back of the airing cupboard and fetched out some old ones that were my Mums, they fit perfectly.

I've no idea, but try putting UK pillows in Ikea cases, the end flaps around all over the place :)

Could be that the Lidl pillow case sizes are for a German or European market and not really for the UK - but why sell them here if they do not fit standard size pillows?

Surely pillows are getting bigger if your pillow cases are too short?

?!? If the existing pillow cases were too short for the new pillows, doesn't that imply the pillows are getting bigger ? (Or the existing pillowcases shrunk in the wash.)

It seems my Mums pillows must have been bigger, since she made all her own cases, and yes the Lidle pillows are German made, thanks for replies.
