I have checked the fuse board, Peas, all ok there. All the switches are 'up'.

I'm fine, woof. Just a bit singed, I think. More of a frisson than anything else.
Mine did this a bit back. I now have no light or fan. Checked the fuse box and untripped the switch. Checked and changed the fuse in the plug. No joy so I will be interested in the answers.

Tuvok, I don't mean what's happened to me. I mean what's happened to my extractor.
You have had an arc in your extractor which has damaged something. Probably a short somewhere. Chances are you need a new extractor. You may be lucky and just need a replacement part, whatever has blown, but in this day & age I'd not bet on it. Besides you'd pay a fortune to get it looked at unless you are able to open it and spot the issue yourself.

And congrats on your retirement :-)

Oh, goodness, OG. A new extractor? Flip!
Well, that's just my opinion without seeing it. You might get lucky. Does the extractor itself have a fuse that might have blown rather than some vital component ?
