Fridge Freezer

I want to buy a fridge freezer to use in a garage away from the house.I believe it must be a special type or it wont work.any ideas what make.it will be under a work top.

.... having read the link, someone says that freezers aren't too bad in the garage, but you need to be careful with fridge freezers - apparently Beko is the way to go.

I have 2 under worktop freezers in our garage. They are what we have used in the kitchen until we started growing and freezing own vegetables and then bought a new one for kitchen and others went in garage. They are nothing special, I have always had Zanussi appliances and have never had any problems with them. They work fine in garage.

After hearing of Beko and dryers setting on fire, I would not buy that brand. Maybe they solved the issues and could be ok now but I would not have one.

This is the explanation that I provided last time on why Beko products may work better in the cold environment of a garage.

The European std rating is an SN code that is designed to operate at temperatures down to 10 degrees. So a cold winter will breach this.
The article goes on to say that many people operate them no problem, and that the different refrigerant used by Beko (and by no other manufacturer) seems to enable it to operate at lower than designed temperatures."

BuildersmAtes explanation is exactly what we were told. We bought a Beko f/f and it seems perfectly ok. Any freezer will work in a garage

Our 20 year old freezer which has lived happily in the garage has just packed up. After much research we have found that only Beko do a freezer that is able to be stored in temperatures down to minus 10. Our new one arrived today so will be a while before we know if it is all ok, but has very good reviews. Apparently (according to lady in John Lewis) new rules a few years ago means that only their technology now works when stored in outhouses/garages. Bought from AO on line who seem to have best prices.
