Anaglypta?
Googling finds some similar threads, with the general conclusion that there's no real substitute.

However this page suggests using Forbo linoleum flooring:

Supaglypa is the thicker form of anaglypta, costs about £40-00/roll.
Just face it - your wife wants the Lincrusta, you are just going to have to buy it ........ whatever it is.

Such difficult decisions can not be made by a mere man, you are lucky that you don't have a cat too. They are bossy little bullies.

Good luck

Supaglypta seems to be the answer - and a compromise which ' er in doors will have to accept. ( Says he from the safety of the office.)

Thanks to you all for your answers.

I had a cat until recently, Wolfy, and I was well down the pecking order !

derek. Make sure you crossline the wall first & soak each piece of supaglypta for exactly the same length of time.
