Fly Repellent

does anyone know of "contraption" I can place on counter top in kitchen to get rid of flies..sticky papers look awful & we can't use sprays because we have 2 cats.

Get yourself a plant-sprayer (the sort you fill up yourself and hand-pump using the handle), add a dab of washing up liquid, fill up with water and mix. Shoot the flies down and suck up with the vacuum cleaner. Easy

And make sure the cats' food and water bowl aren't in the line of fire

I use an electronic zapper, the same ones you see in food takeaway places. Mine is similar to this one;

It doesn't repel the flies but it does kill them.
