I have recently stripped the wallpaper from the bedroom walls, using a steamer which has caused the finishing plaster from the brick walls to expand and crack leaving holes, should be easy to repairwhith a skim of plaster, however how can I repair the plasterboard walls? Some of the top layer of paper has come of and caused an uneven surface. I want to paint the walls instead of papering them.

Same as the brick walls just Re-Scim them. Unless they have lost there structural integrity then you will have to cut out the bad bits Re-board them scim.

I'm afraid this has been caused by overcooking the surface with the steam.
