Longevity of fluorescent lamp tubes

We've just had to replace the little fluorescent tube in the light over our bathroom wash basin. It was the original one installed when the house was built 30 years ago. Is this a record? It certainly proves these lamps last a very long time. I'm expecting that its replacement may well outlive us!

Sorry but they dont manufacture things to last these days, and also make it very difficult to repair, if you get 6 months out the next one you will be lucky im sure they must all be from China now. (you have been switching it on at times ?)
