I got wax out of my carpet by using a coolish iron. Make a pad of clean, white tissue or thin fabric, place it over the wax and iron carefully several times. change the pad as you go, as it will soak up the warm, liquid wax. eventually, it all comes out onto the paper. You can then use a little carpet shampoo, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions to lift any residue. you can use brown paper as well, but i wouldn't advise it on a pale carpet.
We got ours out by ironing a piece of newspaper over the wax, just remember not to burn the carpet, like I did!!
a hot iron on some kitchen roll works wonders
Put a load of ice cubes in a plastic bag, put them over the wax until it's hard, then you should be able to pull off the bits.
