accent colours ??

I have opted for a neutral colour scheme in my living room - coffee colour feature wall, off white for others, soft beige carpet etc. I decided to go for glass & chrome tables and I now think that the room feels a bit cold. I really want to add a new accent colour which is bolder and brings the room to life as well as bringing warmth. My sofa is black ( I should have chose brown in hindsight) and I would like to pick a colour that helps bring the black together more wit the neutrals. I'd love to be able to put colours together like they do in showhouses as it looks so effortless but I'm all out of ideas. Thanks for any suggestions !!
