Hi everyone.
We are soon moving to a flat where there's no actual bath and at the moment, only a small weedy-looking shower. Can anyone recommend a decent shower to buy? As yet, we are unsure of the water pressure in the flat so don't know whether to go for a pump-type shower or one that takes the water from the cold supply and heats it as as it is used. We have had bad experiences with showers in the past and as this will be our only bathroom washing source, we want to get it right this time! We would be grateful for any input on this-thanks.

Hi mazzy - Yes we have a mira sprint and have never had any problems with it!

Suggest you first establish whether you want an electric shower or a mixer shower. Electric showers heat the water up from cold. Mira do both and are a respected company who have been going for years.

Thank you all for your replies-we need to establish what the water pressure is like in the new place before we decide what to get. I think it will need to be the kind of electric shower that heats the water as you need it because the immersion tank is very small. From what everyone says, Mira seem to be very good showers so we will bear this in mind when the quest begins LOL!

I think you will find the mains water pressure is OK ( does it gush out of the kitchen sink cold tap) but If you are not sure about the water pressure fluctuations in the building then you need to get the more expensive thermostatically controlled model HTH Tez

i have an electric shower and always want one.if the pressure is low i will improve it or fit a pump but i always want an alternative source of hot water for washing in case the boiler is out of action

It seems as if choosing the right shower is a minefield! We will have to have a good old think on this one. We are moving to the new place on Monday then 2 days later we are going to America for a fortnight, so busy time ahead. We will have to put up with the shower that's already in there for a wee while and decide about the new one when things are less stressy! Thank you all for your ideas on this ! Luv Maz x
