I am looking to buy a leather bed and wondered if anyone out there had any opinions on them?

I notice most are faux leather but there are a few where they are real leather or bycast whatever that means?

Are they hard wearing does any one know. The faux ones in the store look quite sturdy but just not sure.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks

'Bycast' leather is produced by splitting the hide and removing the outer surface of the skin. The surface of the underneath leather is then given a polyurethane coating and used for whatever purpose, often belts and handbags.
This surface is easily damaged by scratching and by heat. I'd avoid it.
A good leather bed will last a lifetime, but, like anything else, you have to pay more for better quality.
