My Bosch Dishwasher not working

We bought it 8 years ago. Wife has used it maybe 5 times only!! I once a month just run the washer empty so that it does not jam up or something.
Now putting on any programme, I hear slight noise of water filling up(may be aminiute) Then nothing happens. No washing nothing while the times operates as if the machine is running

Any Ideas please??
I dont want it repaired as wife bought it because her FRIEND has got one!

I f you have only used it 5 times in 8 years, sorry, but I am tempted to ask why you need it? Tell her you have looked at it and that should keep her happy as she is not very likely to use it and find out if it is not working.
Keep it on show to impress everyone.

not used it is she daft its the best cupboard in the kitchen you put everything in dirty and it all comes out sparkling why even bother to run it if she wont use it
