My Dyson has just broken after four years and I have been told it would not be economical to fix it. I have a dog who sheds hair all over the carpets and chairs, and even though the Dyson is supposed to be excellent at picking up hair, I haven't been massively impressed. Does anyone have any alternatives I might consider?

it's amazing! it has a special turbo boosting attachment that will pick up dog hairs, but not suck the cushion/bedding up!
All Dyson's carry a guarantee for 5 years and shouldn't cost you anything. If they can't fix it then ask for a replacement. The Dyson Animal is designed for pet owners and is very good.
