Dishwasher cleaning powder/liquid

Anyone recommend any good dishwasher powders/liquid as i have just bought my first dishwasher!!

Do you also need rinse aid stuff??

I use Finish Powerball Quantum which includes the rinse aid. As I live in a soft water area I don't bother with the dishwasher salt.

I just buy some of the ones that have all the salt and rinse aid in the tablet. Quite often they are half price in supermarkets and i stock up then!

Haven't used mine in last 5y. 2hrs to wash what can be done in 10mins in sink! Loading & un-loading....groan! No good for baking tins or baked pudding bowls.

Not carbon-footprint friendly!

Almost everything on the market works well, BUT PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO ADD COARSE SALT,there is a receptacle inside for it.
