snails indoors

Every now and again we get tiny snails (about 3mm diam) crawling up my daughters bedroom wall next to the door architrave. They seem to be coming up thru a tiny hole in the cement floor next to the door frame.
Any ideas how on how to exterminate before sealing all the holes up ?
