weirdo
Theirs ironing that has to be done, and theirs ironing that people get gratification from
I like ironing as well
I've always hated ironing but I know quite a few people who really enjoy it.......luckily my cleaning lady is one of them.
depends if you're wearing them at the time
I find it quite theraputic. Especially when listening to the radio. I can manage about half an hour at a stretch, then I become bored.
OMG ... that is just really weird !
I have a venezuelan lady who does my ironing. Everything else I (reluctantly) do myself.
You're definitely odd Den. It's the only thing I don't do. Hubby does ours. I think I hate it so much because I'm such a perfectionist that if there's one crease I have to start all over again. Perhaps that's my OCD though.

I was getting my washing in this afternoon and speaking to my neighbour - when I said I was going to get this lot ironed. She laughed at me and said she just throws her clean washing in the cupboard.

I have heard other people say the same - I know some garments do not need ironing but shirts and cotton stuff does.
Everything has to be ironed ... including socks and knickers.

Just ... not by me.

I iron things when I get them out, if I can't stretch the creases out by putting the garment on. My so-called ironing basket is currently about two feet high with stuff. I did buy a press which I must admit cuts the job time in half, whenever I can get my *rse into gear (or when the wardrobe is empty).

I don't particularly like ironing, but then again I don't particularly like looking like a rag bag.
I chuck mine in drawers and cupboard. things crease in there so I iron as and when I am going to wer things
but dont things crease in the drawer den?
I haven't ironed a thing for about 3 years now? Things come out the washer and either go in my vertical drying thingy (in winter or if needed quickly), or on a clothes horse straight, or on the line. Any small creases drop out anyway. I found that if your clothes were badly creased coming out the washer it's because you're overloading it.
Clothes definitely look better once they've been irones, even stuff that doesn't look like it needs it, but I am really bad for piling my clothes up after they've washed and dried then only ironing them when I'm about to wear them!

4getmenot - the only thing in my drawers are my undies, everything else is hanging in the wardrobe.
I understand exactly what you mean Den.People think I'm weird because I iron everthing that I wash except underwear unless it's cotton underwear, then I do.
This includes towels, dusters, bedding, etc.Like you, the only thing in my drawer is underwear and everything else goes on a hanger.Even my nightie and dressing gown are on hangers on the back of the door and my towelling gown ( which I iron) is on a hanger on the back of the bathroom door.So perhaps I might be the weird one :-)
I like ironing... In front of the telly with a bottle of wine or a pot of coffee at hand, scented ironing water, Only iron bed linen, and top clothes underwear no, towels and teatowels no, even do housemates ironing if she leaves it out. We do have a cleaner for the bulk of the housework though
