Anyone know where we can get a replacement for the above other than B&Q. It is the 'Rosalind' range and B&Q want £120 for a replacement!!

One thing you can be sure of is that they don't physically make soft close loos seats themselves - they source them from someone else. The tricky bit is to find where.
I'm no idea what the Rosalind range looks like - if it is white like most bathroom suites these days, perhaps one of these looks similar enough to consider. If not try talking to a local plumbers' merchant.

I have just bought a replacement loo seat, the original being from B&Q. They don't do the model anymore and there are many whinges about this particular seat from disgruntled buyers. Mine had a 12 month warranty and it broke after 13 months.
I have now bought a new one from here. I rang them to check it would fit okay and found them very helpful.

Replacing a loo seat, soft close or not, is not always that straight forward. Have a look in a showroom and see the multiple styles and sizes of loos and their seats. There may be no option but to source a replacement from the original supplier. Next time you buy a loo choose one with a 'normal' shape lid and you can replace it off the shelf.
I work in a showroom and I can assure you that soft close loo seats are very popular with women - because their men get up in the night and cant put the seat and lid back down with making a racket.
I know. Apparently there are some men who do put the seat down afterwards.
