Far too difficult to guess. A significant element of the cost will be erecting/dismantling the required scaffolding, the cost of which is driven by the access (or lack of it).
Also you don't say if this chimney is down the centre between the two semis (in which case it involves knocking back the brickwork above the roofline and making good the roof) or if it is a chimney stuck onto the side end of the property.
Finally, if the former, you are going to have to get the prior agreement of your shared neighbour since the chimney will inevitably be common to both properties.

sorry buildersmate for not getting back sooner! chimney not attached to next door, but is in the middle of my roof.have hit another snag, eletricity supply cables for my house (ex council) plus next door council owned, are attached to chimney. phoned scottish power who said they would charge to move cables. one of my friends says scot power should pay me rental for the use of my chimney (40 years !!!! any comments gratefully received.
Suggest you start by getting a quote from Scottish Power to move the main cable, then. You may find that it dissuades you from wanting to have this done, as it will run into four figures, I guess. Unfortunately you can't charge rent for pylons, cable attachment methods on your land if it is only to feed YOUR supply. Clearly if this house was being attached for the first time, it wouldn't be done like that anymore.
The cost of the job is perhaps around £1000 - £500 for the scaffolding, £500 to take the bricks down below roof height and re-batten and tile the roof, inc. VAT.
Just out of interest from a bystander why do you want to remove your chimney?
