I need an old cast iron waste pipe that runs down the house replacing. Does anyone know what type of tradesman I would need to do it or how much roughly it would cost? I'm struggling to find anyone!
Thanks in advance!

A plumber
Could it not be replaced with a plastic one?
I would go for plastic if the planning people will allow it.
It might help you to guage the price if I tell you that a approximately 5 foot length of cast iron guttering cost £31.50 + VAT last year.
It's a dear game.
It was supplied and fitted by a local roofer.
Gauge. :-)
Undoubtedly replacing with black plastic is going to be a cheaper.

However if you own a heritage building, you may not want to do that and there are specialist suppliers still enable to supply this stuff. Here is one:

I have no connection with this company - just found it easily by searching on the web. They are based in Northamptonshire but mail-order anywhere.

As for what sort of tradesman, I would suggest you try and general builder. This is fitting work and there is nothing special about doing it. Employ a plumber and you pay plumbers' rates. I wouldn't employ a roofer either, but Douglas' prices for the materials look about right.

You are limited to 6 foot lengths of this stuff and you join lengths together.
Nothing much to add to other good advice.
I guess you mean the downpipe that carries roof water from the gutter?

Most regular Builders' Merchants sell it now. It's quite common in period buildings and posh refurbs.

Builder/carpenter/handyman... quite a simple job.
