Moving House 185 Miles Away

I am moving from the Croydon area to Telford.
Any advise on moving that sort of distance?
Things like the removal company. Do you get them to pick up the stuff one day and deliver it the next?
Any comments/suggestions/similar experience welcome please.

Hi, when we moved (120 miles) our removal firm picked up our stuff on one day and then delivered it the next day. They also did the packing for us which saved a lot of hassle.

I regularly moved from one end of the country to the other because of work..got Pickfords to pack and deliver following day.stayed in local hotels to be there when they arrived..bit more expensive but work picked up the tab....depending on when you move and fading light 120 miles is not far to go and deliver same day..but you will probably want to stay local and start unpacking next day..remember to keep kettle cups tea coffee and biccies seperate !
