I've seen a house I'm interested in with solar panels. As they are not itemised in the description is it likely they will be leaving them and, if so, what's the procedure with them?

Thanks as always

As solar panels are installed pretty permanently on the roof, its likely that the owner will be leaving them.

If he does take them with him, than insist on an inspection of the roof, at his expense.
You need to find out if the solar panels are owned by the vendors or are the property of the company that installed them. Some people rent out their roof to solar panel companies and the feed in tariff goes to the company, not the householder. It is important to know who owns the panels.
Do follow Tilly's advice, Ric.......I don't know if you are taking out a mortgage but that can be affected if the house you're buying has solar panels....
Do discuss it with your solicitor......x
If the installation is part of the Rent A Roof scheme be cautious and as advised talk with the solicitor.Because there is no mention of the panels on the sales particulars you may find that the panels have not been installed by an MCS installer and so wont qualify for the feed in tarif. How many panels are there?
We have solar panels on our house and if we sell we have the option of 1)leaving them and letting the buyer buy them with the house or 2)leaving them but us keeping the revenue from them or 3)us removing them and taking them with us. You need to speak with your solicitor.
